Lake Elsinore’s largest cultural celebration
The event was established in 2012 in Downtown Lake Elsinore by non-profit arts organization, STUDIO 395, and has become a signature City event that is also the second largest DOD celebration in the Inland Empire.
It is supported by the City, the Chamber of Commerce, the Historical Society, the Downtown Merchants Association, the District 2 Supervisor, and various other non-profit and business entities.
The antique and low-rider car show element will have over 140 vehicles, with each decorated with traditional altars or Day of the Dead decorations.
Throughout the event there will be dance and musical performances at 2 stage locations, a Lucha Libre show, and free craft activities for the kids. A traditional public altar, a public video dedication area, and a Mexican Consulate-supported art exhibit will be set up at the Historic Crescent House 1887.
The event has grown every year in attendance and scope by focusing on the traditional tenets of the holiday through art, performance, and cultural expression; we educate with entertainment. We expect 5,000 local attendees and approximately 400 participants.
Historic Main St., Gediman Square, and the Cultural Center will be decorated for the holiday, including large-scale art installations by STUDIO 395 artists, and photo opportunity sites.
Sponsorship from various partners assists with the continuation of this free community event which also provides a successful venue for local artisans, music, and dance performers. It is truly a community celebration that stresses the love of family, honoring of culture, and the involvement of various community organizations.
We are open to sponsorship partnerships and bringing on new members to the organizing group that fit in with the collective objectives of cultural understanding and community vibrancy.
